It is with great sorrow that we mourn an unthinkable shooting that has extinguished at least two young lives, injured others who worshipped with them, and inflicted great emotional harm on the Annunciation Church community in Minneapolis. The loss of any human life at the hands of another is a great tragedy, and yet, this sorrowful act of violence hits especially close to home for those who care for children.
I ask the Faithful of the Archdiocese of St. Louis to join me in praying fervently for divine guidance as our country mourns this loss of life, and I pray in a special way that we may come together in the wake of this tragedy and address the crisis of gun violence.”
